Fr. Glen Introduction

Dear Friends,

Praised be Jesus Christ!

With gratitude to God, I write to introduce myself as your new pastor. My name is Father Glen Dmytryszyn. I am thankful to Archbishop Coyne for entrusting me with the pastoral care of Holy Disciples Parish and School, and I am honored to lead this community as we continue to walk the path as disciples of Christ.

A Connecticut native, my family currently resides in Wethersfield. I attended St. John’s Seminary in Boston and was ordained to the priesthood in May of 2017 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford. Since then, I have served at St. John Bosco Parish in Branford, St. Gregory the Great and St. Matthew Parishes in Bristol, and most recently the last four years I served as Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Woodbridge. I am an avid fan of the New York Yankees (I hope this won’t be a problem!)  and enjoy hiking, traveling, golf, and reading. One of my greatest joys however is praying and working with the people of God who make our parishes so special.

A parish is a living community of faith, rooted in the Real Presence of Christ celebrated in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and nourished by the Word of God. From that fount of grace, a parish is called to serve, proclaim, and live out the Catholic faith in an outward facing manner throwing open its doors to all who enter and seek Christ. I look forward to getting to know all of you and hearing about your parish experience and the ways we can build on the great legacy of the past and chart a path forward for our parish and school in the years ahead. Our intention of working and praying together is to grow the seed of faith, first in ourselves, and then lead others to the truth of Christ, crucified and risen from the dead.

I am especially grateful to the priests, deacons, staff, parish leaders, volunteers, and the parishioners who have faithfully served this community for decades. Your dedication is a true witness to the Gospel, and I am eager to work alongside you in building up the mystical Body of Christ, which is the Church.

As we begin this new chapter together, I ask for your prayers, just as you can count on mine. May the Holy Spirit guide us, strengthen us, and unite us more deeply in faith, hope, and charity. Praying and working together and entrusting ourselves to the powerful intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace, we will reflect our Lord Jesus Christ to our community and beyond!

Peace and joy,

Fr. Glen
